The Story so far…
Grace is a new church with a story that goes back a little further.
In 2018, Redeemer Church purchased our building at St Barnabas Terrace. It became a vital home for the church through Covid and, even after Sunday gatherings outgrew the building and moved first to Plymouth Albion and then to St Budeaux, there was a strong desire to continue having a gospel presence here. Rather than simply closing the doors, we saw an opportunity to multiply. So, in November 2025, a new church was planted back into St Barnabas Terrace, led by Andrew Larkin. Initially called Redeemer Stoke, the church quickly began to grow and establish its own identity.
In September 2026, we became Grace Church Plymouth — a local church in our own right, while remaining closely connected to the wider family of churches from which we were planted. And we believe this is only the beginning.
What makes us, us?
Bible Based
We love the Bible and believe it is God’s Word to us today. We spend time working through whole books of the Bible, seeking the Spirit’s help to understand what God is saying, how it points us to Jesus and how it shapes everyday life.
Spirit Led
We believe God is present and active among His people today. Our Sundays include contemporary worship, biblical preaching, Communion and space for the gifts and leading of the Holy Spirit.
Family
Church is more than a meeting to attend it’s a family to belong to. We want to share life together, build genuine friendships, eat together, pray together and help one another follow Jesus. Our Life Groups are a big part of making that happen.
On Mission
We want to declare and demonstrate the good news of Jesus to the people around us — serving our community, sharing our faith and helping people discover life in Jesus. We’re part of Redeemer Trust Ltd, a family of local churches working together to plant and strengthen healthy churches across Plymouth and the surrounding area. We’re also part of the Advance Movement, a global family of churches partnering together to plant and strengthen churches and advance the gospel.
What we believe
Our beliefs aren’t new. We stand with Christians throughout history in affirming the historic Christian faith expressed in the Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. We believe in one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the authority of the Bible; salvation through Jesus Christ; the presence and power of the Holy Spirit; the church as God’s people; and the hope of Jesus’ return. We also affirm the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith as a helpful summary of the core Christian beliefs we hold. We take the gospel seriously but we try not to take ourselves too seriously.
